Degree Programs
Associate’s in Healthcare Administration
The Associate of Science in Healthcare Administration (ASHA) program prepares students to understand practices that protect patients and maintain proper employee conduct. Students in the ASHA program are prepared to enter into various careers in hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, dental practices and other healthcare facilities.
Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration
The robust Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration (BSHA) program prepares students for leadership in healthcare. The BSHA curriculum is designed to integrate a foundation of general healthcare administration education with theory and practice that prepares graduates to enter into management positions in healthcare.
Master’s in Healthcare Administration
With an emphasis on workplace application, our Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program focuses on advancing the careers of healthcare leaders. Graduates of the MHA program will learn to use informatics, information technology, evidence and data to improve decision-making, accountability and quality outcomes in healthcare.
Certificate Programs
Health Justice Certificate
The University of Providence’s Health Justice Certificate introduces students to the concepts that build and surround medical-legal partnerships, including how to recognize indicators of medical-legal interventions, synthesize information about health inequalities and apply persuasive communication techniques to advocate for legislative change. Students who obtain the Health Justice Certificate often go on to serve as organizational resources for medical institutions.
Community Health Investment Certificate
Students pursuing the Community Health Investment Certificate will learn about health equity and social drivers of health in order to understand trends in community health and make improvements in investment and initiative opportunities. With a focus on understanding policy and regulatory requirements for community health, the Community Health Certificate will prepare students to become champions of community health systems and leaders in their communities.
Careers in Healthcare Administration
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), medical and health service managers can look forward to a projected growth rate of 32 percent between 2020-2030, which is much faster than the national average of eight percent for all occupations.
In addition to the rapidly increasing occupational outlook for this career, the BLS reports that medical and health service managers earn a median annual salary of $101,340, with the typical entry-level education at that of a bachelor’s degree. Healthcare administrators can find employment in hospitals, nursing homes and group medical practices, usually in a clinical or administrative role.
