Service Learning
University of Providence’s continued dedication to Service is integrated directly into UP courses. All students are required to have completed a set amount of community service hours before graduating from the University of Providence. Our Service is rooted in the the Catholic Social Teaching Principles of Solidarity, Subsidiarity, and Human Dignity. Students live out these principles in the community and reflect on them in the classroom to further understand how we all live as one human community under the grace of God.
Service Immersion
As part of the continued dedication to service, University of Providence plans Service Immersion trips for each semester break. During fall and spring break students have the option to sign up for both state and national immersion trips focused on community service and furthering knowledge of the many communities in need around the country. These trips are equal parts service and education ensuring students understand why areas are in need and how they can continue to work towards justice. Just as the Sisters of Providence went out into the world and asked communities how they could serve, our students dedicate their time to communities outside of University of Providence for the goal of growing a more unified community.
Need Volunteers?
University of Providence students are always looking for volunteer community service opportunities. If you are in need of volunteers please reach out, and pending approval through our service site parameters, we will work to get students connected to your community service event or organization.
