Courses Taught: I teach writing courses here at UP

Areas of scholarship: My background is in both classics and medieval studies, and so my primary interest is classical reception in medieval and early modern English (14th-17th centuries – especially Chaucer, Lydgate, and Shakespeare). I focus on the Trojan War narrative (with a secondary interest in the Theban cycle). I am interested in prophecy (and its connections with poetry), the idea of literary tradition, and translation / reception studies.

Campus and Community Involvement: I’m brand-new to UP and Montana! I’m looking forward to finding community here in English, in SLAS, through church, and among fellow readers and writers

Advice for students: Be curious! Ask for help when you need it.

Favorite Things to Do in Great Falls: We’re new, but we love checking out coffee shops and visiting the library.

Hobbies:

Reading / writing (especially fantasy)

Playing flute (decently) and piano (poorly)

Studying dead languages
