The University of Providence’s traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program (BSN) offers recent high school graduates and eligible transfer students the opportunity to experience the many benefits of campus life while earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
The four-year, on-campus nursing program is designed to prepare students for a rewarding career in nursing by immersing them in a didactic learning experience, pairing a foundational liberal arts program with clinical nursing education.
Live & Learn On Campus
Among the many highlights of the traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is the opportunity for students to earn their degree while living on campus. Campus living exposes students to new and exciting personal and educational opportunities while opening doors to new friendships inside and outside the nursing program.
On-campus life can also help students foster a greater sense of personal growth as they navigate through the nursing program alongside fellow, like-minded students.
Outside of academics, students who live on campus can take advantage of everything Montana has to offer, including the boundless exploration of many outdoor adventures each fall, winter, spring, and summer. With campus programs such as Freshman Corps of Discovery, students engage in team-building, community-focused activities designed to introduce them to the state while establishing them among their peers. On-campus activities include a variety of student-centered events and activities by semester, season, and holiday. Students can also explore and join on-campus clubs and extra-curricular activities.
Foundational Liberal Arts Curriculum
The traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program combines two years of foundational liberal arts courses with two years of clinical nursing courses. When combined, the curriculum is designed to maximize outcomes and build well-rounded graduates who can best serve their patients.
Liberal arts and sciences courses for the traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program include a variety of reading, writing, math, and science courses, many serving as foundational to understanding advanced concepts in nursing practice. While such as Physiology, Chemistry, Statistics, and Microbiology will help advance student understanding of core clinical nursing concepts and practices, courses in Theology, Ethics, What Is Truth? And The Christian Life will help shape students ethical and personal convictions as they navigate the field of clinical nursing.
On-Campus Nursing Experiences
All traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing students are immersed in two years of nursing courses, which include foundational courses in nursing concepts and practice, core and specialized nursing skill labs, and enhanced training and practice during guided clinical rotations.
Graduates of the traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program are ready to meet the needs of the rapidly evolving, high-paced world of nursing and are ready to serve as lifelong learners.
Helping students achieve an advanced level of nursing practice and understanding will be aided by our motivated, passionate, and experienced nursing faculty. In addition to didactic courses, students will be able to utilize a state-of-the-art nursing facility offering the capability and capacity to provide faculty with the resources necessary to train students in both core fundamentals such as taking vitals and drawing blood, to specialties in pediatrics, OB, hospice, and palliative care.
