University of Providence Names New Dean for the School of Health Professions

GREAT FALLS, MONTANA – The University of Providence is excited to welcome a new dean for the School of Health Professions.

Dr. Joseph Cameron Jr. Ed.D brings over 25 years of experience in higher education, including roles in administration, teaching, academic affairs, workforce education, and curriculum development. Dr. Cameron also holds over 10 years of experience serving as dean of health professions and health science divisions.

“We are very excited to welcome Dr. Joseph Cameron to the University of Providence community. Dr. Cameron comes to the university with a deep background in health program leadership,” said Matthew Redinger, Provost, and Vice President of Academic Affairs. “I am looking forward to the new ways our array of health programs can grow and develop under his leadership and see the new directions our programs will take. Perhaps most exciting is that we will have on-campus leadership for our health professions programs while launching our on-campus nursing program in the fall of 2023.”

Dr. Cameron’s first day will be Jan. 30, 2023. He will be working on-campus in the Faculty Office Suites in the university library.

“I am eager to foster an innovative and collaborative culture that encourages faculty and students to think beyond the traditional boundaries of healthcare education, ” said Dr. Cameron. “I’m overjoyed to share my philosophy and dedication to lifelong learning and leadership growth with such a remarkable group of people. It is my hope that, together, we can further elevate the School of Health Professions as a premier institution in healthcare education and delivery.”

UP welcomes Dr. Cameron as he joins the university community.
