Dr. Hoda Asmar serves as the Executive Vice President, System Chief Clinical Officer for Providence. She leads the clinical enterprise and clinical operations across the health system.
Dr. Asmar has served as a physician leader and care transformation executive dedicated to creating optimal experiences and outcomes for patients for the past 25-years. Her decisive and patient-focused leadership has driven care delivery transformation in complex environments, including senior roles in integrated hospital systems, public health organizations, and a private equity-held pharmacy management services corporation.
Through the lens of her diverse cultural and educational background, Dr. Asmar finds fulfillment leading discussions on public health, diversity, and equity issues that can turn into actionable plans to remove barriers to providing outstanding care. She has served as a public health leader in rural communities, a National Baldrige examiner, chair of the board of directors for the American Association for Physician Leadership and a board member of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.
Dr. Asmar earned her Doctor of Medicine at St. Joseph University Medical School in Beirut, Lebanon, and holds an MBA in integrative management from Michigan State University. Her clinical background is in internal medicine and infectious diseases.
