GREAT FALLS, MONTANA –The University of Providence will host its annual Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018 at 10 a.m. The celebration begins with a bell ringing in accordance with the National Bell Ringing Ceremony in Philadelphia. Guests will then gather in Trinitas Chapel on University of Providence’s campus for a service celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Every year we look forward to hosting this event in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.,” says Stephanie Schnider, the event organizer and director of the Providence Formation Program at University of Providence. “Our hope is that not only members of our campus attend, but also the greater community of Great Falls. The impact of Martin Luther King, Jr. reaches far and wide, and we want to provide a space for the community to celebrate him.”

The service features keynote speaker Pastor Marcus Collins of Alexander Temple Church of God in Christ and musical performances from the Abba Father Voices of Praise Gospel Choir and UnTapp3D. Collins will speak on embracing a love that transcends colors.

“I plan to reflect on the labor of love that Dr. King rendered unto all of humanity worldwide,” says Collins. “We have an opportunity to continue in that legacy by cultivating an atmosphere of love and respect for the various cultural groups within our city, state, nation and world.”

Everyone is invited to a soup and roll luncheon following the celebration. For more information, contact Stephanie Schnider at stephanie.schnider@uprovidence.edu.
