GREAT FALLS, MT.—The University of Providence and Providence St. Joseph Health are introducing two new online graduate programs for medical professionals. The programs are: Infection Prevention and Epidemiology and Organizational Leadership/Healthcare Administration.
The Organizational Leadership/Healthcare Administration graduate program is a new online program designed to help new or experienced leaders across all clinical and administrative job categories. A graduate from this program will become a transformation leader in healthcare. The program is available to Providence St. Joseph Health (or partner) employees and to the public, including the community of Great Falls. Applications may be submitted March 1-May 31, 2017. One face-to-face orientation is required on August 14-15, 2017; the location is to be determined.
The Infection Prevention and Epidemiology graduate program is an entirely new program both to the University and to the online world. It is designed for Infection Preventionists struggling under the weight of the learning curve and experienced IPs who desire a stronger foundation for their practice. This program is eight weeks long and designed for individuals working full-time jobs but seeking to further their training and education. The application period extends to May 31.
Victoria Hays, the chair of Nursing and Health Programs at the University of Providence, stated: “The new Master of Science Degree in Infection Prevention and Epidemiology is grounded in an academic-industry partnership between the University of Providence and Providence St. Joseph Health. This new program will help address the emerging critical need for Infection Prevention expertise that is recognized as a key risk in many healthcare settings, extending beyond the walls of hospitals into ambulatory, long-term care, and community service settings. The program is offered in eight-week online courses for working professionals who desire a robust and marketable degree.”
