University of Providence Announces School of Health Professions Dean

GREAT FALLS, MONTANA – The University of Providence is excited to announce Dr. Angela Jukkala as the new dean for the School of Health Professions.

Dr. Jukkala brings more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, having served in various clinical, administrative and leadership roles. Dr. Jukkala earned her PhD in Nursing from the University of Minnesota, focusing on evaluating the quality of maternal childcare in rural hospitals. In her professional life, she served as Director of Health Initiatives/Director of Grace Haven at St. Vincent DePaul of North Central Montana and has held nursing faculty positions at the University of North Alabama and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

“It is profoundly humbling to assume the role of Dean of the School of Health Professions,” said Dr. Jukkala, “This position represents a remarkable opportunity to shape the future of healthcare education at the University of Providence. I am deeply honored to lead the development of the next generation of healthcare professionals, particularly within the unique context of our region.”

Dr. Jukkala first joined UP in 2023, serving as the Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation Liaison Officer, supporting accreditation reviews for both the School of Liberal Arts & Sciences, and School of Health Professions programs with the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). Her work also included work with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for the University’s Masters of Science in Nursing program.

“I am thrilled that Dr. Jukkala accepted the challenge to lead and grow the University of Providence’s School of Health Professions,” said University of Providence Provost Dr. Caroline Goulet. “Angela brings years of expertise in nursing, education and assessment, as well as a deep understanding of healthcare and a vision for the school. In the past nine months, I have worked closely with Angela Jukkala on institutional and programmatic accreditations in her capacity as Director of Institutional Effectiveness.”
