The University of Providence has partnered with the DAISY Foundation to honor the work that our nurses continue to provide for their patients. Given the pandemic, it’s crucial now more than ever to thank and recognize the essential workers that have given their time and energy to helping those in need. We are excited to distinguish both nursing students as well as alumni for this award.
The DAISY Foundation stands for Diseases Attacking the Immune System and was founded in November of 1999 in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. It expresses gratitude to nurses with programs that recognize them for the extraordinary skillful, compassion care they provide patients and families. The expression of gratitude is a way to help nurses always remember the unforgettable impact their care has on patients and families.
For our nurses to receive the DAISY Award, they are nominated by anyone in the organization- parents, family members, other nurses, physicians, other clinicians and staff. If you have witnessed extraordinary, compassionate care being provided by a nurse, do not hesitate to reach out to Melissa Robinson to nominate.
