New Student orientation kicked off the start of the school year on Wednesday, August 21st. We had a wonderful day moving new students into their dorms and getting them ready for their time on campus. Students enjoyed a welcoming ceremony and had their first crack at ringing the bell. We shared a delicious President’s Dinner with our new community. Students participated in PlayFair: The Ultimate Icebreaker, while parents were hosted by the Academic Success Center for a parent social.
On Thursday students ate breakfast as majors and then were off for our annual camping trip. We enjoyed smores, campfires, a challenge course, created blankets for children, and talked about mission and community. On Friday, we rode the Showdown chairlift to the top of Kings Hill for a mass on the mountain. We returned to camp for a Western Night of square, swing, and line dancing. We wrapped up camp with a closing circle on Saturday and returned to campus for a movie on the lawn. We finished our orientation with a welcome back bash on Monday to kick off the year. It was a great time and we are excited for an incredible year.
