SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST
Position Summary
This position provides comprehensive and complex administrative and operational support to the School of Health Professions which includes Nursing and Health Programs. Major responsibilities include planning for and overseeing nursing and health programs, managing program budgets, communication between UP and Providence and working directly with other UP departments in regard to nursing and health programs. This position requires an individual who is highly responsible, uses independent judgment and initiative, as well as possesses excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Preference given to local candidates; will consider telework arrangement for the ideal candidate.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with the Dean, Associate Deans, Program Directors, and faculty on administrative and operational projects.
- Coordinates with Associate Deans on logistics for SHP travel and events.
- Administers, communicates, and implements project plans consistent with organizational expectations, timeframes, and budgetary guidelines.
- Creates project calendars for all nursing and health programs.
- Administers nursing and health programs budgets.
- Provides administrative support for SHP faculty development.
- Identifies improvement opportunities in the processes and systems for the nursing and health programs.
- Serves as the administrative liaison between the University, and other external organizations.
- Coordinates with Director of Institutional Effectiveness on collecting reports and data management for accreditation.
- Works closely with the Admissions Office and Registrar’s Office and facilitates meetings to communicate support needed for SHP, nursing, and health programs.
- Performs a variety of professional and administrative duties that facilitate day-to-day operations of the School of Health Professions.
- Assists in SHP program planning and development.
- Resolves problems that have a significant impact on the overall goals of the School of Health Professions.
- Performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects the University mission and philosophy.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean.
Requirements
Education
- This position requires a bachelor’s degree. A degree in healthcare, business or communication is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of two years in a similar position is preferred.
- Previous customer service is preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
