Student Activities & Events

Montana is home to several breathtaking views, including the Big Belt, Highwood and Little Belt Mountain Ranges that surround Great Falls, and the mighty Missouri River that runs through the heart of Great Falls.

Montana is also home to many different species of wildlife, including Elk, Mule Deer, Moose, Grizzly Bear, Mountain Lion, Bighorn Sheep and of course, the iconic American Bison. The recreational opportunities of our beautiful state are endless, and the University of Providence is blessed to be in the center of it all. The Office of Student Activities works hard to provide plenty of opportunities for our students to take advantage of everything that campus and the surrounding area have to offer.

To make it easier for our students to take advantage of these recreational opportunities, the University of Providence takes pride in our “Basecamp U” outdoor recreation program. Housed in the Office of Student Activities, Basecamp U provides students an opportunity to check out outdoor equipment including fishing & camping equipment, kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, mountain bikes, and so much more. Basecamp U also gives students a chance to join in on trips, such as skiing at Showdown Montana, or floating the Missouri River. The best part? Everything that Basecamp U has to offer is free of charge for all University of Providence students.

Student Government

Student Government at the University of Providence offers a unique structure compared to what you might find at a larger university. Our Student Government consists of a dedicated team of 10 members: six executives and four ambassadors. The executive roles include President, Vice President, Parliamentarian, Secretary, Treasurer, and Public Relations Officer. The ambassador positions focus on key areas of student life, with representatives for Advancement, Athletics, Spiritual Life, and the First-Year Experience. Each member plays a vital role in our success, yet we are united in one purpose: to be THE VOICE of the student body.

Our mission is to represent and serve the student body by providing governance, advocacy, and services that foster student success, enrich campus life, and uplift our community. In recent years, Student Government has made significant contributions, such as installing free feminine hygiene product dispensers in all women’s restrooms on campus, raising and donating over $1,500 to the Providence Montana Health Foundation Cancer Center in support of Breast Cancer Awareness, and uniting our community to bring awareness to critical issues like mental health, domestic violence, disabilities, and suicide. By raising awareness and supporting one another we can stand ArgoStrong together!
